A weekly catechetical program, in the popular style of the Franciscans, this half-hour (29:30)
show is funded by the U.S. Bishops
Catholic Communication Campaign.
Can Catholics believe in evolution? Learn about creation, Darwin and the Catholic position on the theory of evolution. To celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we explore the importance of Catholic education in the U.S. Explore the unique gifts of the Ursuline Sisters and the spirituality of women with American Catholic Radio.
Episodes are added weekly, are geared to the liturgical season and include the following segments:
Saint of the Day -Listeners are invited to
identify these canonized or beatified holy people through lively monologues focusing on their
humanity and personal qualities. The saints are portrayed by accomplished actors Franciscan
Father Dan Anderson and Kim Wessendarp.
Living Faith -In this feature producer Judy
Zarick spotlights parish communities, individuals, service organizations, families, workplaces,
etc. that put their faith into action in interesting and dynamic ways. Through a wide variety
of encouraging and challenging examples of Catholics expressing their faith in action, listeners
are invited to do likewise in their own lives.

Portrait of Paul -On June 28, 2007, the eve
of the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, Pope Benedict XVI announced a “Year of St. Paul,” which
begins this June and lasts until June, 2009. This universal celebration will mark the
2,000th anniversary of the saint’s
birth with special liturgies, pilgrimages and a variety of cultural and ecumenical events
all around the world. American Catholic Radio (ACR) inaugurates a new feature:
Father Norman Langenbrunner’s “Portrait of Paul” will be heard as part
of the program for this yearlong celebration.
Bible Break -Bible Break explores key passages
and themes in Scripture from a Catholic perspective, featuring experts in Catholic biblical
study, including Father Daniel J. Harrington S.J., Kimberly Hahn, Sarah Melcher, Father Dan
Witherup and Barbara Leonard, O.S.F. Concieved in anticipation of the Synod on Scripture called
for by Pope Benedict XVI, Bible Break challenges Catholics and all people of faith to incorporate
